Information

It is said that when Naamah lay with the King of Persis she did so knowing that Blessed Elua's time on earth was fleeting and he needed to be free in order to live it to the fullest.

This is what they believe at Cereus House within the Night Court. They are the first house of the Night Court, created by Enediel Vintesoir some four hundred years after Blessed Elua and his Companions settled Elua. Their courtesans are renown for their fragility and delicate, pale beauty. They believe that beauty is at its most poignant just as it's about to fade, and it's then that their true mettle and character comes to the fore.

Fosterage

Most fosterlings enter House Cereus at age 6, the earliest age a child can be accepted by any House of the Night Court. They seek within future novices a divinely fragile appearance paired with a strong will and a natural aptitude for leadership.

Attire

Those of Cereus House strive to be always immaculately dressed. Being of the First House, they seek to portray an air of dignified beauty, of grace and poise. Their attire further highlights this while emphasizing the pale fragility of their beauty.

Training

Cereus House is another that offers it's adepts an in-depth study of the courtly graces and etiquette. Besides those skills, an adept of this House also learns of the Noble Houses, including those titled within each House. It is said that a Cereus adept would not only even feel at home at a royal event held at the palace, but would also be able to plan the event down to the last detail, to include the specific seating arrangement for all guests by rank and importance. It is rumored that the training of Cereus House is renowned, even discussed with wonder as far as La Serenissima.

Debut

House Cereus is normally into dignified affairs, and public auctions for a novice's virgin price, while not unheard of, is not the norm for the House. What is the norm is to showcase novices that are ready to debut at one of the many fete the House hosts during the year, and let it be known that their debut will be a silent auction sent by proposal to the House. The novice and the House leadership then chooses the proposal that is in the best interests of House Cereus.
